The collection / How can we get to know each other? One of the ways my class of 5 and 6 year olds built social connections was by making and maintaining a collection. Beginning with a few tiny stones, found in the forest or playground, The Collection expanded through the year to include new groupings: patterned sticks, sticky seeds, things that shine or float. Maintaining The Collection, spending time with it, cleaning, re-arranging, introducing it to others, were all important aspects of our work together.
